While Bumblebee wasn't exactly a favorite of mine, he was still a big part of the Transformers universe... and somehow I ended up with almost every version of his toy that was released by Hasbro. So, I figured that I had better keep my collection complete by making a Cuboyd version too :).

There wasn't a great deal of sculpting to do with this one. Especially compared to the previous custom, Shockwave. I added the two "cheek flares" to the side of the head, the small horns and the crest running along the top out of some epoxy putty. Then the front of the chest had a large blob of epoxy added to represent the top of the VW Bug that he usually transforms into. The usual strip of styrene plastic on the lower abdomen and some more epoxy for the bumpers on the feet. The last thing was four pieces of epoxy added to the upper arms and feet to represent the four vehicle wheels. After all of that was cured, cut and sanded down, it was just a matter of painting everything up. I made his face a grey square and then drew the features in, but in hindsight I think it might have looked a bit better if the yellow came in around the angles of his face... but the square shape fits the Cuboyd design better, so I guess it works. I'm quite happy with this guy too. He's the first Autobot I've made, so I guess I should give him some support in the near future ;)
