 About Sunstorm

Sunstorm is a bit of an oddity. In the original Transformers cartoon episode there was a brief shot of a yellow/orange "Seeker" fighting alongside the better known jet-shaped robots. He never appeared after that. However, years later in 2003, a company called e-hobby released a repainted Starscream toy labeled "Sunstorm" after that very figure. Since then he has appeared in two more toy forms and as the main character in a comic book miniseries.

When I set about making my Seekers out of Cuboyds I decided to go ahead and make four, rather than just the three that most people know. I vaguely knew about the Sunstorm character, but never had any of the toys or picked up the comic he was in. So, I just used some reference photos from the web and painted the guy up. In the end the yellow and orange seem a bit too "day-glow" for my tastes, but I think the black outlining and gold accents help to bring it down slightly. He's a pretty good addition to the ranks.
