Just about everyone
that grew up in the 80s or had kids that grew up in the 80s or just didn't
live under a rock during the 80s will remember Papa Smurf. He was the
leader of Smurf Village which contained 101 little blue Smurfs (at the
start anyway, there were a few more over time).

| The Stikfas toy that the blue bear comes with is the second release of the Mechana Segmented Robot. The original kit came with a black robot and brown bear, which makes sense... the recolor is a yellow robot (which still makes a bit of sense) and a blue bear... it's the blue bear that still throws me. Anyway, after getting the kit I suddenly had the inspiration to create a Smurf with very little cutting or sculpting! In the end it actually DID take a bit of cutting and sculpting anyway, but it was still worth the effort. Plus I needed something relatively simple to make for my May custom since I was running out of time for all my other ideas. I went with Papa Smurf mainly because he was the only one that had such a characteristic outfit and facial hair... everyone else wore white hats/pants and looked almost exactly alike. I think it came out Smurf-ta-Stik! (there, got that out of the way!) | |
